Wanaka Flightseeing specialises in scenic flight excursions to Milford Sound, Mount Cook National Park, Mount Aspiring, Doubtful Sound and the Lord of the Rings locations from Wanaka.

Our 'flights of discovery' theme reflects the beautiful and remote alpine wilderness areas highlighted on our flights, the majority of which can only be discovered from above. Well-apportioned Cessna aircraft, with high wings provide uninterrupted viewing. All passengers have window seats and individual headsets to receive an informative in-flight commentary.

• Fly to Milford Sound and join a 2 hour boat cruise on the Sound before returning to Wanaka - total flight time 1 hour 20 minutes with spectacular views of Fiordland and the Southern Lakes as well. This flight also available without the cruise for those with limited time. Fly the full length of Milford Sound, including a landing for a short bush walk and photographs.

• An hour long flight through the Mt Aspiring Park, 3030 metre tall Mount Aspiring stands majestically above the backbone of our Southern Alps. The peak is named Tititea by Maori, which means "The Glistening Peak". Experience close up views of snow covered mountain peaks, steep glacier icefalls and alpine lakes and rivers.

• Fly around Mount Cook and overhead the famous Fox, Franz Josef and Tasman Glaciers, with photo opportunities all the way. This spectacular scenic flight covers over 200 kilometres of Southern Alp’s terrain with numerous snowy peaks and glaciers.

• Mt Aspiring Scenic flight combined with Dart River Valley 4 wheel drive and jet boat trip includes visiting areas where Lord of the Rings filming took place and returning by air via the Skippers Bungy bridge and Shotover River.
