Golf Travel to New Zealand Golf Courses - Itinerary Details:

DAY 1

  • Arrive Auckland and transfer to your accommodation in central Auckland.  At your leisure, take a walk and explore downtown Auckland and the Americas Cup Village
  • Devonport is a short trip across the harbour by launch and has some delightful cafes and shopping along the waterfront
  • Accommodation: Bronze: Sebel Suites (Studio)  / Silver: Sebel Suites (Suite) / Gold: Mollies

DAY 2

  • Take a launch to Waiheke Island from the wharf next to your hotel - visit the wineries and enjoy a swim from one of the quiet and pretty beaches here or
  • Join Bush and Beach Tours for a full day tour taking in Auckland City highlights in the morning, lunch and then an afternoon in the Waitakere ranges and the black sand beaches of the West Coast
  • Auckland has some excellent restaurants - try the French Cafe or Vinnies tonight
  • Accommodation: Same.

DAY 3

  • Depart Auckland today and travel by rental car to Matauri Bay the Bay of Islands where you'll stay in the Bay of Islands for the next 3 nights
  • Plan to stop often along the winding roads and enjoy the many scenic views, especially around Bream Bay
  • Take a picnic lunch and enjoy the beaches and scenery along the way 
  • If you don't wish to drive, a private driver, air and helicopter transfers can be arranged
  • Accommodation: Bronze: Beds of Roses / Silver: Cavelli Lodge / Gold: The Lodge at Kauri Cliffs
  • Driving time today : Allow 4 hours

DAY 4

  • Golf Travel to New Zealand Golf Courses: Golf today at Kauri Cliffs considered by Golf magazine to be one of the Top 100 courses in the world
  • Spa facilities, astro turf tennis, infinity swimming pool and private beaches are available for the exclusive use of guests
  • Accommodation: Same.

DAY 5

  • Visit Kerikeri, Paihia, Russell and Waitangi with courses available here if you wish to play today
  • Kerikeri is home to many artisans, excellent cafes and restaurants
  • Visit New Zealands oldest building, Kemp House (1822) and the Kororipo Pa, fort of the infamous Ngapuhi war chief, Hongi Hiki
  • Visit the historic Treaty House at Waitangi and take a ferry trip to Russell across the bay. Paddling a sea kayak in and out of island nooks and crannies and swimming with dolphins is another specialty of the Bay of Islands
  • Accommodation: Same.

DAY 6

  • Drop your car at Bay of Islands Airport and fly to Rotorua with Air New Zealand
  • Stay in Rotorua for the next 2 nights
  • Explore this lakeside volcanic city with it's geysers and mudpools, relax in a mineral Spa, and take in a Maori cultural show this evening.
  • Accommodation: Bronze: Ngongotaha B&B / Silver: Koura Lodge / Gold: Treetops Lodge

DAY 7

  • Visit New Zealands largest lake, Taupo, 1 hour south of Rotorua.
  • Golf Travel to New Zealand Golf Courses: Golf at the Wairakei Golf Course, home to NZ's most famous par 5
  • Visit the Huka Falls or go trout fishing with Chris Jolly Hunting and Fishing
  • Accommodation: Same.

DAY 8

DAY 9

  • Fly from Rotorua to Queenstown today where you'll stay for the next 2 nights between Arrowtown and Queenstown
  • Golf Travel to New Zealand Golf Courses: Choose from a range of excellent courses in the area - as well as Millbrook, recommended are Frankton, Kelvin Heights,  Arrowtown and Wanaka
  • Accommodation: Same.

DAY 10

  • Fly to Milford Sound this morning and cruise Milford before returning to Queenstown airport. You can do this either by fixed wind aircraft or by helicopter
  • This afternoon you may want to play golf again, take a trip up the Dart River with Dart River Safaris or join Appellation Wine Tours for food and wine tasting
  • Take a drive over to Wanaka and play golf here - an hours drive over the scenic Crown Range and a sublime tourist town on the edge of the 4th largest lake in New Zealand
  • Accommodation: Same.

Day 11

  • Drive to Mt. Hutt in the Rakaia River Gorge area, a stunning new course on 227 hectares with breathtaking mountain and river views in the majestic Southern Alps. Stay here for 2 nights
  • This is a very scenic drive today - take a short detour to Mt Cook and join Air Safaris for a flight over the glaciers and Mt Cook.
  • Stop at Lake Tekapo - a good place for a lakeside picnic
  • Accommodation: Bronze: Beluga Lodge / Silver: Terrace Downs Golf Resort (Suite) / Gold: Terrace Downs Golf Resort (Villa)
  • Driving time today: allow 6.5 hours

DAY 12

  • Other options for activities in the area are jet-boating, horse riding, mountain biking, river rafting or just enjoying the fine scenery, fresh air and wide open spaces.
  • Take a hot air ballooning trip over the plains and mountains
  • Accommodation: Same.

DAY 13

  • Travel to Christchurch to your accommodation for the next 2 nights
  • The Charlotte Jane is situated close to Hagley park, central Christchurch city and Merivale - an attractive residential area with excellent cafes and shopping minutes walk away
  • Accommodation: Bronze: Elizas B&B (Room) / Silver: The George Hotel / Gold: Otahuna

DAY 14

  • Golf Travel to New Zealand Golf Courses: Golfing in Christchurch at the beautiful Clearwater which also includes horse riding trails, walkways and fishing streams. You may choose to use this as your accommodation option if you wish. Christchurch Golf Club is another excellent option for golfing.
  • Take a day trip to Akaroa on Banks Peninsula. Join Black Cat Cruises for a trip on the harbour and swim with the dolphins. Explore the pretty seaside town of Akaroa with its French history and take a walk through bush full of native birdlife. On the way home, stop off at the Little River Gallery for quality New Zealand art, great food and coffee.
