The Wellesley is a magnificently restored grade one heritage building, designed by William Gray Young in 1927. This masterpiece was awarded a gold medal for architecture and is regarded as Wellington’s finest example of neo-Georgian architecture. In 2000 the hotel was tastefully restored, retaining its charm and elegance.
Superbly appointed luxury suites have been meticulously themed in the English Georgian period style with use of the finest natural materials. Each room is of particularly generous proportions reflecting the grandeur of the hotel building.
