This restored Victorian Villa is typical of those built in the late 19th century in New Zealand to house the large families of wealthy merchants and landowners. The current owners have restored Stafford Villa to the glory of a bygone era, with the addition of modern conveniences like central heating, modern appliances and bathrooms and a security system. At Stafford Villa you will find a place of colonial history where the past and present are delightfully blended.

Stafford Villa has two spacious guest rooms with ensuites as well as a private guest library, sunny sitting room and conservatory.

The first guest room, China Blue, is designed around a collection of blue and white porcelain, luxury with an oriental influence. The large bedroom with ensuite dressing area, has access to the upper veranda with views to the garden and Willow Bay. A four-poster bed with 'ultra plush posturepedic mattress', an abundance of feather pillows, and exquisite bed linen is very luxurious. The luxurious en-suite dressing area features a spa bath, large wardrobe and wooden polished floors.

The Tuscany Summer room has a large bay window looking out onto the original orchard with apple, fig, and plum trees. Vibrant wallpaper of orchard fruits flanked by a regency designed stripe plus dramatic red and tartan drapes pulls this room together with dramatic effect. Matching Victoria Brass bedheads create a king size bed or as twin singles, plush posturepedic mattress, exquisite linens and soft feather pillows. The ensuite-tiled bathroom has walk-in shower and amenities.

Situated 10 minutes from downtown Auckland at Birkenhead, a seaside suburb with shops, cafes, restaurants and swimming beaches a short stroll away. Stafford Villa sits in a sheltered, sunny valley in a garden of tropical trees and shrubs. A 9 minute ferry ride takes you directly across the harbour to the Viaduct basin and Auckland’s CBD.
