Built in 1893 by the renowned England Brothers, Orari was the private townhouse of Annie Macdonald, widow of one of Canterbury’s earliest landholders. Restored and refurbished in 1999, retaining the original native kauri construction, Orari now offers 10 guestrooms with ensuites or private bathrooms.
Each bedroom includes television, phone, and tea or coffee-making facilities, making it suitable for the entire house to be booked for small conferences or weddings. The living rooms open to verandas looking out to the garden pool. Orari is located in the heart of Christchurch, within comfortable walking distance of cafés and restaurants, the Arts Centre, Botanic Gardens, Museum, Hagley Park and golf course, and the City Centre
