Guest NZ Story

Kia ora, I am Michael Nees, the owner and Managing Director of Guest New Zealand. I was born into a third-generation Baker's family in Germany and from an early age I observed and understood the importance of building client relationships. Due to health reasons my father was forced to discontinue the Bakery and, as a young man, I joined the Police Force. After working as a frontline officer in Frankfurt for some years, I left Europe in 1986 for an extended holiday to New Zealand.

I travelled throughout the North and South Islands by car and bicycle, tramping through spectacular native bush and national parks and studying the people, history and wildlife. In 1988 I began working as a Tour Guide experiencing firsthand the emerging beautiful Bed and Breakfast accommodations and luxury lodges in this country.

I saw the potential for a niche business providing travel solutions in New Zealand, Australia and the South Pacific. I would  provide a user friendly, secure service to travellers confident to use and trust an internet travel company. I would care for travellers as I would like a Guest to feel in my home - to be a host who took care of all the details so my Guests could relax without concerns.

From this concept my travel company GUEST New Zealand was established.
