TOURS & SIGHTSEEING

Abel Tasman Charters

Kaiteriteri | SOUTH ISLAND

Abel Tasman Charters, scenic cruises sea kayaking in the Abel Tasman National Park, for Abel Tasman scenic cruises, scallop charters, fishing trips and multi-day scenic cruises in the Marlborough Sounds.
  • Daily Cruise Abel Tasman

Join the Taranui for a day trip, exploring along the Abel Tasman's coastline; past Split Apple Rock, Kaiteriteri, Marahau, round sandy bays, Adele and Fishermans Islands and on to Tonga Island seal colony.

Passengers board at Stephens Bay and are treated to a leisurely cruise around the headland to Split Apple Rock, from which several shags may be seen drying their wings above the warm rocks after their early morning fishing expeditions.

Taranui's cruise itinerary is flexible and passengers will be taken to view specific marine activity such as  dolphins riding the bow wave or New Zealand fur seals fishing. Similarly if there's a particular bay or park passengers would especially like to see, they may inform the skipper who will endeavour to accommodate requests.

After viewing the seals, a light lunch is served in a sheltered bay. A delicious platter style lunch with fresh local ingredients, and local beer and wine is available for purchase. Advance notice of any special dietary requirements (like food allergies) would be appreciated.  After lunch passengers may swim, sea kayak, go ashore for a bush walk, or just relax on Taranui.

Lunch, sunscreen, sea kayaks, snorkelling, fishing gear and lifejackets are provided. Passengers need to bring their own camera, hat, sunglasses, warm jacket (just in case ) and swimming gear.

For those intending to hike the Abel Tasman Coastal Track then sturdy footwear is recommended.
