• The Guest NZ Story / Our History 

GUEST NZ was founded in 1996 by Michael Nees. After working as a frontline police officer in Frankfurt for nine years, Michael Nees left Europe in 1986 for an extended holiday to New Zealand. He travelled extensively throughout the North and South Islands by car and bicycle, tramping through the spectacular native bush of national parks including the Routeburn and Milford Tracks. He became entranced by the scenery, the people,and the history, and also developed a keen interest in native New Zealand birdlife.

 

In 1988 Michael began working as a Tour Guide experiencing firsthand the emerging beautiful Bed and Breakfast accommodations and luxury lodges in this country. Michael saw the potential for a niche business providing travel solutions in New Zealand, Australia and the South Pacific. and launched GUEST NZ.

 

The company continues to provide a user-friendly, secure service to travellers, harnessing the latest technology and hiring the best staff to ensure travellers can relax and enjoy their time in New Zealand without concerns.

At GUEST NZ we are a group of enthusiastic, smart-working and well-travelled individuals who consider it a privilege to share this beautiful country with you. Our staff are real "Kiwi" people.

 

• Our Mission

During the past decade, Michael Nees, the founder of GUEST NZ observed that travel often had many uncontrolled variables. Although the planning and dreaming was an enjoyable part of the journey, the action plans became stressful, even before the suitcases were packed.

 

We recognise that the Web presents a simpler way of planning and enjoying a journey. However it sometimes misses the human factor, spirit and emotion of intuition and experience. GUEST NZ has resolved this challenge by creating a website with a Travel Design protocol. When GUEST NZ was established, staff were chosen for their extensive travel experiences real "Kiwi" people. GUEST NZ people are able to respond to questions about New Zealand, identify the important details and utilise the time available for travellers to create exceptional travel itineraries.

 

What distinguishes GUEST NZ from other travel services is additional convenience and security - each Guest is appointed their very own personal consultant who remains in contact throughout the journey every step of the way. • We utilise innovative technology to reduce work related fuel consumption (e.g. staff can work remotely)
• We encourage GUESTS to 'travel slow' and promote more than one-night stays, using local tour companies and therefore reducing fuel consumption
