Shelbourne Villa is in a quiet suburban location, yet within five minutes’ walk of the City Centre.

Originally built in 1929, this classic villa has been refurbished, still in New Zealand genre, and is set in an English-style garden with separate seating areas including a terrace with small pond and waterfall.

Shelbourne Villa is owned by warm, helpful and unobtrusive hosts who will do their utmost to create a memorable experience for their Guests.

Accommodation:

The Loft:
The loft is ideal for those who enjoy space, comfort and style. It has been compared to accommodation found more in a Luxury Lodge rather than a B & B.

Suites:
Large and comfortable, the Master Suite is large and comfortable and ideal for guests wanting plenty of space to be able to unpack their lugguage and really settle in to enjoy what Nelson has to offer.

The Newby Suite:
the smaller Newby Suite was originally Shelbourne Villa's original master bedroom, so is still a good comfortable size. Access is convenient with no stairs to negotiate and the Guest Lounge and Dining Room also.

The Garden Suite:

This apartment styled suite has its own lounge and small kitchenette, in addition to the bedroom and en-suite bathroom. It is ideal for both short and long stays. Direct access is via a private entrance. There is also separate internal access to the main guest lounge and dining room, which are located one level above.

Breakfast:

Room rates are inclusive of a full cooked and continental breakfast.

We stayed in Nelson at the Shelbourne Villa for three nights and enjoyed three delicious, creative breakfasts with truly top-quality food. We loved staying in the Master Bedroom Suite; it was decorated perfectly and we felt very at home there. We borrowed CDs from the library, which was a very nice touch. Val was at a quilting seminar for most of our stay, but Wayne was the perfect host/chef. In addition to Hopgoods and Bar Delicious which are only a 5 minute walk away, we had a great meal at the Boat Shed Cafe, which is a short drive from Shelbourne Villa. If we are lucky enough to return to New Zealand, we would love to stay at the Shelbourne Villa again! - Pearce, Arizona, USA

Cancellation Policy

In the event of cancellation Shelbourne Villa reserve the right to recover: a) Cancellation within 30 days of arrival date: 30% forfeit of the total booking price. b) Cancellation within 7 days of arrival date: 100% forfeit of the total booking price. Naturally Shelbourne Villa will endeavour to re-book the space and if successful will not levy any charge. Guests are strongly recommended take out travel insurance.
