Wellington Rover Tours offers small, flexible tours for travelers, wishing to make the most of all that Wellington and the region has to offer.
This tour takes just over 2 hours and takes in a 50 km drive starting from central Wellington. Stops include Mt Victoria, Island Bay and Owhiro Bay, gateway to the Red Rocks Walk and seal colony. Follow the spectacular south coast past the surf beaches of Houghton Bay and Lyall Bay to the Miramar Peninsula (almost 35kms of coastline). The favorite beach stop is Scorching Bay home to the legendary Chocolate Fish Cafe. You may stop and explore before continuing on a leisurely drive around the northern point of the Miramar peninsular and returning to the city via Evan's Bay, Oriental Parade, Parliament Grounds, the Karori Wildlife Sanctuary, the Historic Cable Car and Museum and the Botanical Gardens. Maximum number per tour 11 passengers.
