Martinborough Hotel has remained true to its history - from the quaint battered suitcase of a gentleman traveller at the top of the stairs, to the sloping floors and olden day sketches of local personalities adorning the walls. The hotel have sixteen bedrooms, all have special features, depending on Guest preference for an historical or more contemporary feel.
Suites:
Verandah Rooms:
The Verandah Rooms are located on the first floor of the hotel and open out onto a deep balcony. Each room features its own character, aged wooden floors, luxurious Persian rugs and Chinese porcelain. Feature shower only.
Heritage Verandah Rooms:
Similar to the Verandah Rooms, these rooms are also located on the first floor of the hotel and feature deep old fashioned claw foot tubs. Feature bath and shower.
Garden Rooms:
Garden rooms are a short walk from the main building to a garden courtyward and are very comfortable and spacious with a more contemporary feel. These rooms open out onto a quiet leafy courtyard.
Shek O Suite:
These rooms are designed for Honeymooners or those seeking privacy and romance. Guests have their own private verandah and entrance up a short flight of stairs. The decor has been carefully chosen to envoke style and harmony.
Dining:
Dining in the award-winning restaurant is elegant and refined. Guests of The Martinborough Hotel will enjoy a sumptuous food and wine experience that is exclusively European in flavour and reflective of the seasonal produce of the Wairarapa. The Bar menu is distinctly different yet of the same food philosophy.
A superb wine cellar is proof of the area's reputation as one of New Zealand's leading wine regions with a varied selection including Martinborough pinot noirs and outstanding sauvignon blanc.
