Originally built in the 1950's Makoha Beach House has been revamped to an exceptionally high standard to reflect the natural environment.
Mäkoha Beach House is the perfect getaway or romantic retreat where Guests have exclusive use of the property. The building has been designed with two separate levels of living areas, decks, bathrooms and large bedrooms with king-size beds - making it an ideal luxury accommodation choice for two couples or discerning travellers craving privacy.
Upon entry to the property Guests will immediately feel the spaciousness, warmth and calming nature of the natural colours and textures. The New Zealand native heart rimu timber floors and the natural jute, sisal and seagrass rugs throughout the beach house perfectly complement the décor. Original Pacific-themed artwork is featured in many of the rooms.
Lower level
Off the broad entry hall on the main floor is a generous bathroom with luxurious Spanish-tiled bath, glass walk-in shower, under-floor heating and full laundry facilities.
The main lounge has timeless, modern furniture complete with wide-screen LCD television and surround sound DVD/CD system and a rich black granite-hearth open fireplace. Glass folding doors open out onto a large hardwood deck with outdoor barbecuing facilities and dramatic views of Kapiti Island and the sea.
Also on the lower level is an office with a computer and broadband Internet access, and a spacious and elegant king-size bedroom with glass doors leading to a deck, a romantic dining room and a gourmet kitchen complete with stainless steel appliances and black granite bench tops.
Upper level
A wide staircase to the upper level leads to the master bedroom and ensuite bathroom with elegant, modern facilities. Opposite the master bedroom is a stunning lounge/living area with distinctive rattan furniture that encourages relaxation. Original artwork features on the walls and brings in a touch of the outdoors. Glass doors fold back to a large deck with stylish outdoor furniture. From this deck the views are truly inspiring with wide 270º views of the ocean, coastline, islands and the mountains.
