After Working as a frontline Police Officer in Frankfurt for nine years, Michael Nees left Germany in 1986 for an extended holiday to New Zealand. He travelled throughout the North and South Islands by car and bicycle, tramping through the spectacular native bush of national parks including the Routeburn and Milford Tracks. Michael fell in love with the scenery, the people and the history of New Zealand. In 1988 he began working as a Tour Guide experiencing first-hand the beautiful accommodations and exciting tours in this country. Michael founded GUEST New Zealand in 1996.
